◄Moon
Gate Moon Gate is the first in a series of "steel flower forms" I plan on sculpting over the next few years. MG consists of various steel and glass found objects, each of which has a personal meaning. The piece, in that sense, is autobiographical in nature. It uses durable materials that had fulfilled their functional purpose and were cast aside. Steel hoops from wagon/tractor wheels, high-strength sucker rods from jack pumps, a tank end, drilling pipe, and glass insulators find new life framing the hill country in a cosmic gate inspired by decades of lunar fascination. Come at the right time and you can even glimpse the moon through the center of the piece, casting a gentle light on the fifty jewel-like insulators encircling the concentric steel hoops.--Sustek Click for Resume |
